Reasons to consider whole house dehumidification
- You feel sweaty or clammy even when you have your AC set to a comfortable temperature
- Your allergies flare up when you’re inside your home on hot days
- Your existing AC struggles to bring humidity to a comfortable level.
- Humidity spikes inside your home during spring, fall, or other times when you’re not running your HVAC system
- Desire to reduce dust mite populations and/or mold, which thrive in high humidity environments
- Need to improve overall comfort, so you don’t feel hot all the time inside your home
- Ability to bring in fresh air via the dehumidification system – you get lower indoor humidity and better overall air quality
How does a whole home dehumidifier work?
It’s like an air conditioner, except it doesn’t cool. It just removes moisture.
When air enters a whole house dehumidifier, humidity condenses inside the unit and drains into a pipe. Eventually, it flows out of the pipe and onto the ground outside — almost exactly how your AC works, right?
The built-in dehumidification system interfaces with your air conditioner and thermostat. You set the desired relative humidity (usually around 50 to 50%) and the air conditioner runs like normal. The dehumidifier kicks in afterward to remove any additional humidity in the air until the level reaches your setting.
In the end, you’re dry and comfortable no matter the conditions outdoors!
Dehumidifier for house? Our installations are the best in Atlanta.
When it comes to whole house dehumidification, installation quality matters a whole lot.
Most companies install dehumidifiers so that they blow dry air back across your wet AC coil. This method might work ok in some homes, but we’ve found that it’s best to route the dehumidified air so that it doesn’t blow back across that coil.
That way, we avoid reintroducing moisture into the home while we’re trying to dehumidify it! The dehumidifier will operate more efficiently, and you’ll feel more comfortable.
Insist on an experienced installer for your central home dehumidifier
At PV Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, we’re big on indoor air quality. Probably more so than any other Atlanta HVAC company.
That’s why our technicians receive special training in the realm of indoor air quality, humidity management, and home performance.
PV Heating, Cooling & Plumbing technicians receive over 125 hours of training each year, and a lot of that training has to do with air quality.
When we install your whole home dehumidifier, you’re getting a team that has done this before, knows which installation methods work, and also knows what doesn’t work. In short, we’re experts. Now you just have yo ask yourself, if its worth installation a whole dehumidifier in your home?
A senior team member also audits every installation a few days after the system was installed. That way, we can answer any questions you have, address any concerns, and ensure you’re happy and comfortable!
